Joe Spencer-Trueman

I was born in a small log cabin in rural Kentucky! No, just kidding! I grew up in Euclid Ohio on Lake Eire swimming and boating everyday all summer. I worked at a summer camp and was asked to work with people with disabilities and found my future.

I worked for the Cuyahoga County board of Developmental Disabilities for 32 years and was an operations manager for the final 10 of those years. I sat on the Peninsula library board for 6 years and was president of the Quarry our local swimming spot in the middle of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

I raised my family with my wife of 30 years in Peninsula and rebuilt a 120-year-old house along the way. We have three wonderful adult children, Reilly, Liam, Darby, and a beautiful granddaughter Caylanii.
